Choosing Label Adhesives: Permanent, Removable & Freezer

By the Label Mark-It team · Updated

Short answer: Permanent adhesive is made to stay put. Removable adhesive peels off cleanly without leaving residue. Freezer-grade adhesive is made to stick in cold, damp conditions. Pick based on the surface, the temperature and whether the label should come off later.

Permanent

The default for shipping, inventory and most product labels. Tough to remove once it sets.

Removable

Good for price labels on gifts, glass or anything a customer will want to peel. Comes off without a sticky mess.

Freezer-grade

Standard adhesive can lose grip in the cold. Freezer adhesives are built for refrigerated and frozen goods.
